Towers Christmas Cheer Drive-Through

Christmas Festive Cheer!

This year has been overwhelming in so many ways. We wanted to do our bit in trying to end what has been a difficult year for us all by lighting up our school for Christmas! We were blown away with how many people came along, so much so that we almost ran out of hot chocolate and mince pies! Our Towers School Prefects, with the help of local resident Theresa Avey, did the most amazing job of collecting Christmas lights, decorating the school and then greeting everyone as they drove through. Having the Mayor of Ashford complete the countdown was equally wonderful and added an extra special wonder to the event. Thank you to everyone who donated lights, including local businesses who also donated mince pies, in particular the Co-op at Godinton Park, hot chocolate and cups as well. We already have plans in the pipeline to make next year’s Christmas Lights event even bigger! We raised over £600 for the NSPCC. Merry Christmas! In addition to this event, every student in the school has written a Christmas card which will be given to local residents who may be on their own this Christmas. Some of the messages were very moving indeed.
