World Book Day 2022

World Book Day

Thursday March 3rd

This year we are celebrating 25 years of wonderful World Book Day. Each student will receive a £1 voucher enabling them to buy a book from local bookshops. In school, Year 7 and 8 students will have an exciting day of reading and story writing. In addition, we are running a ……

Book Exchange

We are delighted to launch ‘The Book Exchange’ involving all students. We are asking that they have a look at home and find up to five books that they have enjoyed reading, are not going to read again and believe other students would enjoy. These books can be brought in to the LRC from Monday 21st to Friday 25th of February. For every book brought in, students will be given a raffle ticket and then, on World Book Day (Thursday 3rd March), students can go to the LRC during their lunchtime and exchange each raffle ticket for a book of their choice.

Look out for the Where’s Wally treasure hunt and staff disguised as favourite book characters ! We look forward to celebrating World Book Day with you all.

Cakes

As World Book Day is a charity, aiming to provide a book to every child and young person, we are fundraising with a cake sale in the LRC on Thursday 3rd March. There will be delicious cakes for sale at lunchtime and all money raised will go to the World Book Day charity, which is an excellent cause. If students do not wish to buy a cake but would like to donate any money to the charity, they can also do this on the day too.
