Messages from the Towers staff

Mrs. Crisp

I am overwhelmed by the amount of work everyone is achieving across all Key Stages. I can now do maths fraction division and am an expert on tropical rainforests. I also miss all of my students like crazy!

Miss Richmond

I am really proud of students across all Key Stages doing Religious Studies and Citizenship. We miss having you in class, having discussions and hearing your opinions but we can see you are doing so well in applying yourself to your work.

Mr. Bennett and Mr. Gardner

We are impressed with the enthusiasm and engagement from Y7 pupils. Some outstanding videos of drama and dance have been shared over the past 2 weeks!!!

Miss Hothersall

I am very proud of Y9 and each of the students who are submitting lots of work each day. Keep up the great work!

Madame Batchelor

I am “très impressionnée” with the great work and engagement from Y7. Keep it up and we hope to see you all in person soon! And remember! You can always find the answers to your quiz questions in your Knowledge Booklets :-) and we are here if you have any questions.

Mrs. C. Sillett

Our Year 11 students have continued to embody their year group motto ‘still I rise’- facing challenges head-on and communicating politely and maturely when they need help. We are so incredibly proud of them.

Dr. Carter

It has been a real pleasure to watch the Y9 Performing Arts dances from last week and I’m looking forward to seeing some of the body percussion this week. Getting to see the work you do is a real joy. Some great scores on the Knowledge Checks, so keep up the good work. Well done.

Mr. Carter

I normally miss you lot on a Saturday and Sunday! (And I do mean that.) All the times we are on your case, even when it doesn’t feel like it, it is because we want the best for every single one of you. I really can’t wait to get back and annoy everyone again. A quote that I used at my brother’s wedding, from the great Herbie Hancock (look him up)...

“It’s part of life to have obstacles. It’s about overcoming obstacles; that’s the key to happiness.”

Well you have all earned a great deal of happiness so take a moment to just smile. I’m sending one to you all right now.

Mrs. MacLean

Keep going. You are all doing so well. I can’t wait to get back to some sort of normal and to see all your smiling faces. I’m so proud of each and every one of you.

Humanities Department (Geography and History)

Well done from the Humanities department. We have been impressed with the quality of work that you are completing. Keep up the good work!

Mrs. Stone

Well done everyone. You have been working so hard and I’m so impressed with everyone! Your work looks amazing and there has been some really tough key knowledge to tackle!! I am so proud of you all!

Miss Allen

Amazing work from all students, you are all doing so well in Maths! Keep up the good work you have been showing so far. A special well done to all Y11 students who worked so hard during their assessments last week.

Miss Wright

Just to say that your continued hard work is not going unnoticed. I am so proud of how you have taken on the challenge of remote learning. You are a real credit to yourselves and to the school community.

Miss Crovato

I’m thoroughly impressed with your hard work, day in, day out :) You’re smashing this remote learning thing. Keep going! Looking forward to having you all back. Always #ProudToBeTowers

Mrs. Giles

The PE department is so impressed with how many of you are keeping fit and active! Remember to take care of yourself physically, mentally and socially. Make sure you schedule in some time away from your desks and computer screens, take that walk with your family, make that call to your friend and lose yourself in that piece of music you love. We are really proud of you all and we can’t wait to welcome you back soon.

Dr. Stevens

Well done everyone. You are doing great and all of the learning that you continue to do will help make your future more successful.

This is a difficult time for you. You might not do everything, but everything that you do will help you. Put aside time that is dedicated to learning and then find some things to enjoy in the rest of the time. It won’t be long until we are all back together again. I’m looking forward to it and hope that you are too.

Miss Keen

To the students working in school: your positive attitude continues to impress me and it’s lovely to see your faces each week. To the students working at home: I’ve been equally impressed with your perseverance and effort, I can’t wait to see you all back again.

Miss A. Wilson

I am really proud of how well Y8 has adapted to remote learning during these challenging times and continuously produced some amazing work. Keep it up! You are all amazing!

Mr. Pereira

Dear Years 10 and 11 Sociology students, you have been a credit to the school in completing truly excellent work over the last few weeks. We are immensely proud of you all and I hope we can all go back to turning society upside down in classrooms as soon as possible!

Mrs. Pendleton, Miss Mckie and Thrive TAs

We are all so extremely proud of our Thrive students being unbelievably resilient and having a ‘can do’ attitude. Very well done! You know where we are if you or your parents need any advice or help. We cannot wait to see you all again!

Mrs. McGarry

Despite the struggles, you are doing so very well. It is tough, no one is denying that, but remember, the world is your oyster. It may sometimes seem weird, unpleasant or hard to access, but you will get to the pearly bit. Just keep moving forward. Y10 - I am so very proud of you! Keep going!

Mrs. McVey, Mr. Gaygan and Miss Reed

We are so very proud of all of you and how hard you have been working from home. We didn’t realise just how much we miss being in school every day and the lift we get from being with you and the energy and enthusiasm you show day in and day out.

Miss Mansell

You are all doing a fabulous job and I admire you for facing this challenging time with such determination. I am so proud of you and the brilliant work that you are producing. I miss you all and can't wait to have you back in the classroom. Take care everyone :)

Miss Perry

Well done to the catering students for coming in every Friday and producing meals for the food bank in Ashford. It's good to know that young people do care about others in their community. Also, a pat on the back for keeping on top of your paperwork. You are brilliant. Keep up the routine.

Mr Gardner

The world may have come to a grinding halt but you have proven that the show must go on! Well done to all the GCSE and A-level Drama students who have been throwing themselves into online rehearsals and performances. You have astounded me with your creativity and commitment. I am very proud to work with each and every one of you; being a part of your rehearsals is always the highlight of my week.

Madame Boulant

Vos sourires me manquent, vos rires me manquent, vos questions me manquent, bref, vous me manquez énormément! J'espère vous voir bientôt. Je suis très fière de vous. Vous faites du bon travail!

[Editor: special mention in the next issue to the first student to translate this into English!]

Miss Frampton

I would like to say a massive well done to everyone for your amazing Maths work over the past few weeks. A particular shout out to the Y7s that I have been working with on the Google classrooms. I know it’s not always easy but you have shown amazing perseverance and the work you have submitted has been incredible. I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Miss Taylor

A huge well done to all of Y11 for your engagement, efforts and dedication to your English studies. You have listened carefully to all of the videos, applied your learning and, as a result, are continuing your learning at home. It has been a pleasure reading your work over the last month. And, finally, a little thank you to all of you who have emailed me to ask how I am doing. Your emails make my day!

Mrs. Pegg & Miss Campy

We are so proud of every single one of you! It’s a difficult time but your resilience and perseverance is second to none. A massive well done to all the Business and ICT students. Your work has been a pleasure to mark and your hard work has not gone unnoticed. We miss you all so much and cannot wait to get back to the classroom!
