Sixth Form

Year 12 and 13 have completed their first set of PPEs (Pre Public Examinations) this academic year, across both A Levels and BTECs, with a great set of first results. Now it is time to use the information to work on revision techniques for the upcoming January BTEC exam series, and for Year 13 A Level students to start to solidify their knowledge in preparation for their summer 2022 exams.

Sixth Form Leadership Team

The Sixth Form Student Leadership Team were appointed this term. Congratulations to Jessica Bradnam, Kayla Harding, Mueerah Usman, Suhana Limbu, Shelby Glazier, and Izzy Elliott. The Student Leadership Team have already started to have an impact in Sixth Form and are very keen to start communicating and supporting lower school students, so watch this space!

This term also saw two of our Year 12 students visit an Oxbridge presentation, which was held at Highworth School. Students were given great advice and guidance from an Oxford University lecturer on how to prep and plan for their application, with the process starting now for these two Year 12 students!

Year 13 students have been finalising their UCAS applications, ready to apply to University. We have students applying for a wide range of courses in Universities all over the country, including Midwifery, Finance and Accounting, Nursing, Paramedic Science, Civil Engineering and Social Work, to name just a few!

Carters restaurant may not be open as yet to the general public, due to the current situation, but our Sixth Form Catering students are still working hard catering for the local food bank and looking after their own Sixth Form students and staff with breakfast and snack items.

Having them working in the kitchen has certainly made the place come to life with the return of their teacher. We are so lucky to have them producing great quality food, in front of our eyes! After Christmas we hope to return to normal with the restaurant open for lunches, afternoon teas and special evening events.
